The Los Angeles-St. Petersburg Sister City Committee celebrated "The Grand Tradition of the Russian Ballet" at its Sixth Annual Russian Winter Ball & Fundraiser sponsored by
www.Baraban.com. The event featured exclusive performance by Irma Nioradze, Principal Dancer of the Kirov-Mariinsky Ballet. Singer Ella Leya, who recently released a new CD titled Russian Romance, made her Southern California debut at the event. Former Cirque du Soleil acrobat Tatiana Gousarova gave a special performance at the gala that featured gourmet candlelight dining, romantic orchestral melodies, awards presentation and silent auction. The event featured a special award presentation to Tim Bruinsma, Esq., Partner Fulbright & Jaworski, L.L.P., and Dr. Alexander Gershman, President, Russian American Medical Association. The Honorable Consul General Of The Russian Federation Victor Lizun received a special international award. Proceeds from the evening will benefit children's and senior citizens' charities, and cultural initiatives in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Russian American Medical Project.
