agree with tanya, the other picture is just bla. and this one... well beyond the awkward lighting, her elbow cut, the sun in her eyes etc... i don't know anything about anyone guarding a ship in ohio against communism (by the way the cold war was over prior to 1995) at best she's guarding the ship from sneaky passangers trying to bring food on board ;)
Well, if you want an honest opinion, it's a poor photo (light-contrast-the guy's elbow is cut off), not to mention a poor subject (what are you trying to say, really?). I'd go with the girl in the uniform. Though neither of the two is good. Sorry.

A bad score doesn't mean I hate it...the actual photo was great...it's the blatant advertising I really disliked...just really tasteless and a bit tacky...it's like your whoring your business.
Even if it is advertising, it's a great photograph and it doesn't violate any of the contest rules. So there is no reason to have a negative reaction and rate it with a 1, but to each their own, so...
